Christ Episcopal Church

We invite you to worship with us each Sunday at Christ Episcopal Church in Hope Mills. Service begins at 11 a.m.

Church of the Apostles

The Church of The Apostles, at 1419 H. Bullard Road., will have Vacation Bible School Aug. 2-6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Register online at www.groupvbs/pro.com/ vbs/hl/tcota

First United Baptist Church

First United Baptist Church, located at 2002 Chickenfoot Road in Hope Mills, will have a fundraiser Aug. 14 starting at 6 a.m. The event will feature an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, yard sale and car wash. The cost of the pancake breakfast and car wash is a donation.

There also will be a barbecue and chicken plate sale, eat in or take out. The cost will be $6 per plate and includes slaw, baked beans and a roll. All proceeds will go to youth and senior activities.

Good Shepherd Catholic Church

Weekend celebrations are Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is Saturday from 4:30 to 5 p.m. and Wednesday from 5:30 to 6 p.m. or by appointment. Daily Masses are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at noon.

On Thursday, the Preschool Moms will meet in the nursery at 10 a.m.

On Friday, the Deacon's Den will open at 3 p.m.

On Sunday,at 9:45 a.m., the RCIA Inquiry will have its third session in Room 3. A Vietnamese Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m.

On Monday,a Bible study group, "Days of Deepening Friendship,'' will begin at 6 p.m. in Room 4. The young adult Bible study will be held at 6 p.m. in Room 3.

On Tuesday, at 10 a.m., "Days of Deepening Friendship" group will meet in Room 4.

Highland Baptist Church

Tonight is Family Night and our quarterly business meeting. The Building and Grounds Committee will meet at 6 p.m., followed by a cookout at 6:30 and the business meeting at 7:15.

Congratulations to our men's softball team, 2010 season and tournament champions. Anyone interested in playing in the fall league is asked to contact Pastor Mike.

On Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the New South River Baptist Association will host "It's A New Day for Financial Freedom" Conference. If you are interested in attending, register online or call the church office.

Embrace will meet on July 29 at 7 p.m. Childcare will be provided.

Join us for several opportunities in Bible study and fellowship. Our men meet on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday mornings at 6 a.m. and our women hold "Splash" Bible study every Tuesday evening at 7 pm.

Hope Mills United Methodist

Worship services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m. with children's church during the 11 o'clock service.

Youth Summer Sunday Dinner will be on Aug. 1 at 6 p.m. Call 257-7652 for more information.

School kits for migrant and local children are being collected during July and August. Get a list of required items from the church bulletin or office.

Planning is under way for the Fall Bazaar to be held in November. Ask Peggy Koonce or Dixie Davis how you can help.

Square dance classes are held on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

Boy Scout Derby will be held on July 30 and 31.

Southview Baptist Church

Southview Baptist Church, located at 4089 Elk Road, will hold MegaSports Camp on Wednesdays beginning today through Aug. 18 from 6:15 to 8 p.m. Students entering first through sixth grades can learn basketball, soccer, baseball or cheerleading. St. Matthews United Methodist Church

The church, at 202 Hope Mills Road, will host the Celebrant Singers on Friday at 7 p.m. The group of 10 singers tours the world. The event is free, but an offering will be taken. For more information, call 425-0401.

Willis Creek A.M.E. Zion Church

The Willis Creek A.M.E. Zion Church Youth Department will hold its annual Youth Day Celebration Service on Sunday at 10:55 a.m. The speaker for the morning will be Minister Adrienne L. Monroe, associate minister of Simon Temple A.M.E. Zion Church of Fayetteville. The church's youth choir, the Voices of Praise, will perform. The theme for this year is, "What is Your Status with God". You are invited to come expecting to receive a blessing. For more information call 424-2622.
